You heard about it first at 1 Million Cups AVL: the simple Google-like search engine that finds data for your neighborhood, from property information to crime. The City of Asheville IT staff’s innovative project went on to win the Technology Award for SimpliCity during the Code for America Summit earlier this month in California. The 13 national winners, which include GitHub, are deemed the most influential and effective products and services powering 21st century governments.
