Writing as of October, 2021 – We’ve come to an imbalance of the Force in Elevate, our Mentorship program. We now have way more mentors than Founders. We had the opposite problem about a year ago. So we’re back to recruiting Founders.
Who is a good fit?
- Full-Time Founders
- Have a highly scalable product or business model
- At the prototyping/go-to-market stage, or selling to early adopters
- Not in the idea stage
- Preference given to tech/tech-enabled companies
- Coachable
- Must like monthly founder luncheons, special events, and monthly meetings with mentors
- Funding seeking (grants, debt, or angel/venture capital)
Elevate is a proven model to help founders accelerate through the inflection points of their growth curves. We use the team-based mentorship approach developed at MIT. This is not an accelerator or incubator. Elevate is a long-term relationship a founder builds with a team of mentors. The typical founder is in for 18-36 months.
Some of our “greatest hits” include French Broad Chocolates, Elite HRV, No Evil Foods, Plum Print, Char Grow, Fernleaf Interactive, SoulKu, Moonlight Makers, Craftpeak, Ginger’s Revenge, Range Urgent Care, Poppy Popcorn, Everyday Oil, Brightfield Transportation and there’s about another 40-50 startups that have been through the program.
In total, Elevate helped these startups earn nearly $85M in revenues, raised $28M in capital, and created well over 285 jobs at 150% of the county average. And that’s just while in the program, not lifetime of the ventures.
