If you missed last month’s Annual Meeting for the Economic Development Coalition for Asheville-Buncombe County (EDC), the umbrella organization of Venture Asheville, then you won’t want to miss this. Hiring top talent to be the interview host, the EDC debuted this video that explores some of the most inspiring and impactful stories of companies that have recently expanded here and are making a difference in our community. Those stories include GE Aviation, New Belgium Brewing, BorgWarner and Buncombe County’s new STEM High School.
The AVL 5×5 is Asheville and Buncombe County’s 5-year job creation strategy. From 2010-2015 the EDC announced 6,385 new jobs and $1 Billion in capital investments through AVL 5×5. That far exceeded our community’s goal, thanks to the leadership and support of Buncombe County, the City of Asheville, 70-plus private investors and countless partners.
