With Category 4 Hurricane Florence looming off the eastern coast of North Carolina, the western side of the state is welcoming hurricane evacuees. In the statement below, Jeffrey Kaplan of Venture Asheville explains how entrepreneurs and remote workers can keep their business open during the storm.
“Our Asheville coworking spaces have opened their doors to all the evacuees who need somewhere to work during this storm, and have waived their regular fees for anyone coming to the Asheville Area from the central and eastern regions of North Carolina for this and next week. We encourage our friends at Packard Place in Charlotte, the American Underground in Durham, HQ Raleigh, Coworx in Wilmington and everywhere in between to hop on I-40 and get out of the way of the storm. We have plenty of space at our coworking facilities and even the Asheville campus of Lenoir-Rhyne University has turned over their largest classroom for ad-hoc office space.
