The Cheat Sheet, a Quantcast Top 125 website, is looking for a full-time Web Developer to join our team! Busy news consumers in our increasingly mobile world come to The Cheat Sheet for its succinct, value-added analyses, and you could be responsible for our awesome technology!

As our Web Developer you will:

  • Work with a small team of developers on a data analysis project. This work will be primarily in Yii framework where data is collected from various sources.
  • Work with many different APIs, optimize MySQL tables, write views in Yii and more!
  • Collaborate with team members to help us figure out solutions to some very complex and interesting problems.
  • Work from home! This role requires someone who is self-disciplined and able to utilize virtual communication tools well.

Required Skills
The right candidate will have very strong skills in the following:

  • PHP
  • MySQL
  • Javascript, jQuery
  • HTML/CSS
  • Yii Framework or MVC Framework Experience
  • Familiarity with Object Oriented Programming
  • Standards compliant coding practices

Bonus Skills

  • Experience with revision control, particularly Mercurial
  • Hadoop
  • WordPress
  • Linux CLI
  • PHPDoc
