Pitch for Pitchers AVL headed to Wicked Weed Brewing’s Funkatorium barrel house on Tuesday, Feb. 10 for its second monthly event in 2015. Seven entrepreneurs pitched their startup ideas to a wall-to-wall crowd of more than 65 people. The winning, crowd favorite pitch went to Jessie and Dion of Bike-Ready, a performance bike pannier that doubles as a stylish messenger bag. They won $50 and a pitcher of beer, with three runners up also awarded pitchers of beer. The runner up was iPower Concepts, which presented its AC Powerbox that powers lights and low energy electronics using old batteries. The Funkatorium served up some of their best sour barrel aged beers to an energetic crowd that fired off questions after each pitch.
