Some have called it Asheville’s climate tech moonshot. This past Friday, The Collider opened its flat-out stunning and modern convening space and headquarters atop the downtown Wells Fargo building.

Billed as a next-generation innovation hub to commercialize new technologies and services for the emerging $10 trillion climate adaptation infrastructure industries (ain’t that a mouthful), The Collider will strive to marry entrepreneurs, climate scientists, data scientists, and big data (think, terrabytes) with the planning needs of industry, governments and institutions in order to launch new climate products and climate tech companies.

The grand opening featured speeches from U.S. Secretary of Transportation Anthony Foxx, Asheville Mayor Esther Manheimer, founding philanthropist Mack Pearsall and founding CEO Bill Dean. And as Mack Pearsall so eloquently stated, “The Collider’s open. Y’all come!”  (photo: Amplified Media)
